Gill’s passion for food was instilled early, growing up on the family farm. From a young age, she
was involved in every aspect of farm life, learning the value of hard work and quality ingredients.
Her father established a farm shop to sell meat directly to customers, and by the age of sixteen, Gill was confidently cutting and preparing pork, beef, and lamb to the same standard as the professional butchers.
These foundational skills would later prove invaluable in her career. Alongside butchery, Gill enjoyed baking pastries with her mother, drawing inspiration from her home cooking.
The influence of her mother’s culinary skills shaped Gill’s passion for quality
food, a foundation that would stay with her throughout her life.
